S&C passenger trains 
  One of the reasons cited for continuing to keep the S&C open as a through route was that it was a lifeline for isolated homes/villages/ towns along its route. Has the S&C maintained a passenger service this week and has it conveyed passengers to and from otherwise cut off places? Or was that reason just a cynical ploy to keep taxpayers money away... more »

  Full marks to South West Trains for trying to run a full service today. No marks to the fire that is now pulling the rug out from underneath their valiant effort. Trains are queued back to beyond Woking at the moment.
