WSMR DVTs are go
The first of the long-delayed WSMR DVTs was in traffic today (Saturday 11th), trailing the 08:55 from Wrexham and leading the 15:20 from Marylebone, with 67 015 at the opposite end. The set topped and tailed by 67 025 and 67 028 was stepped down after working the 20:03 from Marylebone on Friday night.... more »

Seat Reservations
Well yesterday it finally happened On the grotesquely overcrowded 11.15 Southampton to Manchester Arriva XC Voyager, which was turned out as a single four car set on a four ship day, I found a seat marked as "This seat is not reserved" only to be very rudely challenged by a ticket waving phsychiatrist at Banbury... more »

St Pancras gets suicide art.
From "The Sunday Times": Rail passengers at London's St Pancras International station are to be greeted by a work of art depicting a commuter falling into the path of a train driven by a Grim Reaper figure. The macabre image will appear on a bronze relief frieze at the base of The Meeting Place, the 30ft statue of an embracing couple.... more »

Penalty fare increase
Surprised the increase to £50 (£25 if paid within 3 weeks) on TfL services hasn't been mentioned: [link] I wonder if mainline rail, regional trams, and the TW Metro etc will follow? Paul S

OT: Airline posters
Off topic, I know, but today's Telegraph Online has some excellent air travel posters from the 1950s, 60s, 70s and a couple of earlier ones: [link]

"FCC train divides while in motion"
The Ticket Collector is reporting that yesterday's "1422 Kings Cross to Peterborough service divided while in motion on the approach to Finsbury Park. In what seems to be exactly the same thing that happened 2 years ago." [link]... more »
