I haven't been here since 2004 so I'm sure you're wondering where I've
been - or more likely who the heck is this.
Anyway, the Racal RA17L is working absolutely wonderful, and is all
tuned up. I'm about to get hold of a Collins R390 to compare it too.
I've managed to get hold of another SP600 as well, and it is patiently
waiting for me on the bench downstairs. (I sold my last one for a
song and miss it terribly.) New capacitors and so forth. I've taken a
break from the radio stuff for the warmer WX, and now getting back to
it. The motorcycle has been safely stowed in the shed and it is full
speed ahead with the radio work.
I've been listening to a local broadcaster over here and he has had a
guest on called Nigel Farage, I'm sure many of you must know him. He
seems like a very good fella with a good idea of what is going on in
the world. I'm curious as to what he is thought of by the populace
over there. If anyone could comment on him and his party I would like
to hear some thoughts.
Kind regards,
Bob

Mr. Farage is a very convincing speaker, but a bit short on action. He was
the leader of UKIP whose alleged aim is to get us out of the EU. Sadly, they
seem reluctant to make any effort to do so.

>the leader of UKIP whose alleged aim is to get us out of the EU. Sadly, they
Given that it was a referendum that gave the ok for the UK govt to
bring the Uk into the EEC , it will most likely take a referendum to
leave it.
add to that the extra complication that the recent lisbon treaty also
requires a unanimous decision of other countries to allow a country to
leave the EU and it looks like Old Nick will get a bad cold faster
than either of the previous conditions being met.
Not so, not so! The original and only time the great unwashed British public
was asked for their irrelevant opinion on the matter, it was for us to enter
into a free trade agreement. All of the other dogwash has been tagged on
since.

Its all down the bottom of something thats now revised by the lisbon
tweaty.... the "tweaty of wome" of i think 1961
