Come say hello. I'll be there with a stall selling a few laptops under
my business name (Notebooks-R-Us.co.uk - yeah,yeah I know... :-p ) and
some PC gear that I've hoarded. Was hoping to be selling a few more
laptops but there's been a run on the cheaper stuff this week. A mate
of mine is sharing the tables and will have some radio gear including
some nice handhelds that can be reprogrammed for 2m OTTOMH. I'll be the
fat one with a goatee beard.

It's been a few years since I've been and looking forward to it, it
being something of a local one.

Indeed. Sold a bit just not what I intended to. As the guy with a stall
full of quite decent for the money £100 lappies only sold 3 himself and
none of the others did, I guess it wasn't a computer buying day.

Did get myself a very nicely priced frequency counter and some other
odds and sods. For once, I came home with more money than I went with,
despite the unplanned spending.

I did get harrassed constantly through the day by a guy who wanted to
swap his tri-band handheld transciever for a netbook I was selling. In
the end I had to point out that I couldn't spend that at Tesco so while
it might have been very nice, it wasn't really of much use to me yet.

I would've said Wetwang chipshop which is a very good one and you
should visit if you get the chance. It gets people from all over
stopping there and there's a handily placed pub next door.

You should have taken the tribander - 6M or 23cms?

Magnum was really poor for PC sales too - I virtually cleared all my
radios away, but didn't even get a single enquiry about the computers.

TBH I didn't look and maybe I should. However, its a business and I
need to get more stock. I could've sold the radio on but its the aggro
of doing it.

I think that the days of them basically being unofficially combined
computer/radio rallies is over. Still punting a few locally and online
but I'd like to shift more. If I can ever get hold of the woman from
the town council, I'm going to have a go at a market stall for a few

And in capacity as compared to volume (dry goods, etc; eg wheat)

1 Peck = 2 gallons
