It has been mentioned already today on the Regional Voices pages that all
eyes of the media are on Barking. We have been informed that the local
betting shops have closed the book and are refusing to take any more bets on
the BNP coming first or second in tomorrow's polls.
As any casual punter knows, bookies do not act on whims but on hard facts,
and the hard fact here is that the people of Barking have been voting with
their money in the past few weeks and placing bets on the BNP candidate
Richard Barnbrook. Nationwide, the odds of the British National Party
winning one seat in the Commons have shortened to 28/1 (Ladbrokes as at
18.30hrs Weds).
Even Labour officials in the borough are warning the media that it is going
to a tight contest and the voters may just spring a surprise and give
Margaret Hodge, the sitting Labour MP her marching orders.
The hundreds of party workers who have worked tremendously hard in the
campaigns around the country and the thousands of our members will be
keeping fingers crossed that the voters will strike a victory for common
sense, decency and the British way of life and deliver a serious blow to the
rotten regime of Tony Blair and his cronies.

"A storm is gathering in this country that is about to unleash a political
revolution. British workers are sick and tired of being sold out by greedy
Tory global capitalists, hand wringing Liberal Democrat Third World
Obsessives, and public school New Labour champagne socialists. They
understand that if they want a decent job, a decent wage, a decent pension
and hope for a future in this country for their children, that the only
party that dares to stand up for the rights of the British worker is the
BNP."

Have any bookmakers actually taken any bets on how the BNP will show in
Barking? Presumably someone can tell me what odds were available and
from whom. I ask because I've never seen odds quoted by anyone for the
results in Barking on
http://politicalbetting.bestbetting.com/default.aspx?group=2406991
while I have for the odds of the BNP winning in, besides Keighley (33:),
Shipley (100:1), Hornchurch (100:1) and Erewash (125:1).

Out of interest, since you quote the odds on the BNP winning one seat,
here's Labrokes' list of prices for all the minor parties they're quoting:
Respect 2/1
Veritas 12/1
UKIP 22/1
Green Party 25/1
British National Party 28/1
Scottish Socialist Party 66/1
Christian People's Alliance 150/1
Legalise Cannabis Alliance 250/1
Monster Raving Loony Party 500/1

Probably talking about the independent bookies I guess.

Well, the only thing I'm surprised about in that list is the fact that
Veritoss are only 12/1 !
You guess?

Well verits have 40 candidates and you have 3times as many bar one - so
their 12/1 is quite good
I don't think so. That's because if I were an independent bookie in
Barking taking a lot of money on the BNP and I could lay part of the
bets off at 28:1 on the BNP winning one seat I'd be very happily still
taking as many bets as possible on them. I'd make a fortune that way.

Kilroy-Silk. He's at 12:1 in Erewash, presumably because some Vanitas
supporter with more money than sense (R K-S himself fits that
description, of course) has put a fair bit on him there.
Steve
Sadie Graham of the BNP will split his vote, as will UKRAP - it's obvious.
Silly sod.
The "Church Of The Militant Elvis Party" sounds intriguing though ...
*lol* You don't half talk some pish son .... this will be interesting
... what will your pathetic excuse be when you are humiliated and end up
behind Labour, Conservative, Lib-Dems, Greens, UKIP, the Workers
Revolution Party and Demetrius?

"If you are ferocious in battle, remember to be magnanimous in victory.
We go to liberate, not to conquer. We are entering Iraq to free a
people, and the only flag that will be flown in that ancient land is
their own. Don't treat them as refugees, for they are in their own
country. If there are casualties of war, then remember, when they woke
up and got dressed in the morning they did not plan to die this day.
Allow them dignity in death. Bury them properly and mark their graves.
You will be shunned unless your conduct is of the highest, for your
deeds will follow you down history. Iraq is steeped in history. It is

No humiliation glug, I believe we will get an honourable second place there,
or at the very least a respectable third.

If they have any bloody sense at all they will.
