Are you (i) giving up smoking using gum/patches/etc to tail off the
nicotine[1] or (ii) giving up all forms of nicotine in one go?  I wish
you well either way.  I ask only because if it is (ii) we shall know to
shield tender eyes from the group (and can expect the mods to raise the
threat level to critical?)

[1] I am of course making an assumption as to the substance in issue.
And for what little it's worth, I found it easy to give up smoking after
a decades of chain smoking.  OTOH I did not manage to give up the
nicotine gum until I retired :((
