Glad that you like the charts, it can sometimes be a little tricky
getting them out on time, I'm a part-time student plus I work
full-time as a painter & decorator and hell knows some weekends as a
DJ, I was horrified to see however that the charts could well be a
very large fiddle, there is a rumour floating around that certain
record companies are paying people who work in music shops to scan CD
singles more times than what they are bought, who knows, there maybe
some truth in the matter ???????

Nothing is really 100% tamper proof...

Milward Brown International, the company which compiles the charts for CIN,
use methods that make it almost impossible to rig the chart. For example,
they've introduced point of sale (POS) tracking devices that will only
accept a sale if an EFTPOS transaction has taken place. Despite how much
you may think the UK charts can be rigged, I still consider it more
accurate and tamper proof than Soundscan's charts (US Billboard) or Music
Network (Australian Record Industry Association).

If anyone's interested, I can email you a copy of an article about how the
UK charts are compiled. --as soon as I find the damned thing first :)
