Although I've been well aware of Bert's book for years (and can remember
seeing him and Muriel Young on TV as a child) I've never actually held
let alone read a copy of the book. I should address this.

Fitting issues involve the nut slots and maybe saddle height and neck
relief. I did that conversion when my daughter started playing. The tone is
dull, lifeless and very quiet (the last being what I was after)
acoustically, but it might be OK if you use the right amplifying and
recording system.
