Anyone know when Avril's going to be playing live in the UK again?
I saw Avril play live in Birmingham last year and it was one of the most enjoyable gigs I've been to. Avril seems to appeal to a huge range of fans, from leather-clad punks with pink/green hair to skaters in hoodies, to teenage fangirls, to greasy-looking black-t-shirt rock/metal types. By the end of the show, everyone was upfront jumping up and down like sweat soaked maniacs together. It was amazing.

You might be interested in Avril's current DVD “My World” containing lots of Live tour action. I don't know when she will be touring the UK again but rest assured I will be amongst the first to shout about it here.

According to the interview on Capital FM's site, Avril's playing at Party in the Park this year. Whether you want to put up with shite like Busted, Nelly Furtado, Blue and Will Young until Avril takes the stage (probably right at the end of the fucking night, as is the way these things usually go) is another matter.
Avril's world tour starts next year - I presume she'll be playing a few dates over here at some point (hope she makes it up north). I'm personally going to wait until then.

And yet another reason why x-posting is not a good thing.
Besides, Patti Smith is the Queen of Punk, not this nice middle-class all-American girl ;)

Yeah - Avril's songs might not be the most profound or political, or be punk enough for the liking of some punks, but on the plus side she can sing well, writes her own lyrics and can play guitar (a Gibson Les Paul Studio for anyone that's interested) to a reasonable standard. I guess that puts her head and shoulders above the current lot.

So is every record you, or anyone else, has ever bought. What's the problem?
