I am not sure whether to make this an announcement of a job vacancy -
though recruitment is not in my gift - or just another attempt to
alert people who normally send me information, review CDs etc.

But for anyone who needs or wants to know, including those labels/
agents/representatives/PRs I will inevitably forget to tip off, I have
written my last folk review/feature for Daily Telegraph (it's in today
- Liege and Lief Deluxe, which seemed a good one to bow out on) . My
choice, not theirs, I am happy to say.

I hope to keep my folk website going - http://www.salutlive.com/2007/09/end-of-an-era.html
puts a little more flesh on the bones of this posting - but am moving
to a new job in the UAE. Those whose involvement in music brings them
into contact me can still reach me at colinr...@gmail.com

Well... all I can say is thanks for all your reviews in the past. I
think the first time I cam across you was when you gave us (Artisan) a
nice Telegraph review for our first Christmas album in... let's see...
1990 or thereabouts. And over the years, you've done great service to
folk by making sure it stayed visible in the mainstream media. That's a
huge thing for folk in general when visibility in the 'real world' is no
easy ting to either achieve or maintain.

Best wishes for the future and for the website.

Too bad. I hope they *do* continuing commissioning folk music reviews.
