a friend o' mine was asked, in all earnestness,
"Do you have Thanksgiving in Britain?"

Reply: "Yes, but ours is on the fourth of July".

Thanksgiving is well established in the UK. It's the period when we give
thanks that we aren't Americans, it lasts for 52 weeks in a year.
