Hopefully BBC America is widely available
to the US Public at large!

If it /is/ widely available, then 1.5 million viewers for their most
successful ever broadcast would suggest that the channel is of interest
to very few. :( So I'd prefer to think that it's available to very few.

=====================================================

I know a lot of cable providers carry it. I'm NOT sure how many carry it as
a first tier network or how many only make it available in a higher priced
package. I can tell you that only recently have we been able to get BBCA in
HD on my local (Boston MA area) Verizon system. Not sure, but I don't
think it's on our cheapest tier here either. Honestly...there are only a
handful of shows I'm interested in at a given time. Brit seasons (series)
are extremely short too. Just completed watching this season of The Hour
(which I like a lot). Too short. Seems like far too long since Luther was
on too. It's promised soon I guess. Too much of the car shows for my
taste. THOSE seem to run all year long. An awful lot of "filler" it seems
to me.

5% to 10% then.

IT is either BBCA or hope PBS starts picking up DW again.

Tell us about it... The upcoming series of Luther only has four (???)
episodes. No wonder the writer and star are disappearing off to the US to do
another show with Hugh Laurie.

Thanks Danny Cohen. Thanks... a... lot...

Season 2 of THE HOUR just started airing in Australia.
I've watched the first episode, the 2nd one to air next
Thursday.
Great cast & Hannah Tointon is nice eye candy, having, I
think, the same hair style as Sarah Jones of Vegas

Only to those who get cable TV, which is most people but not us. Cable
isn't even available here.

It's only watched by subscribers who want UK programming, within the 85
or so % who can get cable or satellite to begin with, which we can't.

You could say that, but everyone on the other side of our road can get
cable. We are on the wrong side of the street. We also have too amny
trees for satellite.

The basic problem is that Dr. Who used to be on PBS, which you can
receive with an ordinary aerial, but they took it off so they could sell
it to SciFi channel, which is only on cable and satellite. It's all
about money. Now I don't think it's on there either, just BBC America,
which is also only cable or satellite, except that they don't get
anything for selling it to themselves, whereas the local PBS stations
used to pay to show Dr. Who. I don't think they knew when they were well
off!
