Ok, so they allow minor swears at this time, but I'm less than five minutes
into it and they've still cut out huge chunks involving Brian sniffing a dog
and when he's on the toilet.

I thought they'd leave these uncut. And Sky wonder why people unsubscribe.

Following up my own post, but I'm only halfway through as I type and as well as
many more cuts including the mention of Brian 'violating Seabreeze' (the
Pewterschmidt's dog), they even cut the moment where Bill Gates shined a torch
into the Sky, showing the Microsoft Windows logo Batman-style, to summon his
private helicopter, even though the copter had a logo on it so what was that
cut all about??

Maybe CNX should acquire it? They don't seem to be afraid to show cartoons
uncut - just look at Spawn and Outlaw Star.

Sky's cuts in FG, The Simpsons and King of the Hill are just plain
ridiculous.

Umm... probably not because of Family Guy. It's a pretty niche interest
show.

Wrong type of show. CNX is only really after action shows.

What's interesting is that Outlaw Star and Cowboy Bebop are completely
unedited - which cannot be said for the versions that aired on Adult Swim,
the equivalent strand of programming on the US Cartoon Network.

I saw one of the halloween Simpsons episodes on BBC 2 on the 31st and
remembered about the cuts I read about Sky making - the electrocution
scene of Snake was shown *in full* at 6pm - I think Sky previously cut
to Wiggam with the switch making the whole thing about half as long.
Makes Sky look very silly IMO, especially considering the BBC showed
"The Cartridge Family" in full at 6pm a few months back.

I'm sure last week's episode about Chris having a bigger penis than
Peter (which is only fair, seeing that Peter IS a bigger penis than
Chris) got cut as well - the final scene seemed a bit abrupt to me.

I disagree. I don't think they'd cut a penis on Sky One.

I've downloaded it so I'll have a look at it soon, but no doubt there'll be
several cuts to it.

Yes, I presumed those were cut because it was part of when TT was shouting at
Seabreeze for being a "Filthy, filthy whore!!".

They must buy pre-censored episodes in.

Yeah, I've heard a lot about the Adult Swim slot from one of the message
boards I post to: Nickelodeon Inc. I would like CN to have it's own AS slot,
but I think CNX does it better anyway, and CN shows Baby Blues and Home
Movies uncut after 10pm. I wish they would show DBZ uncut and in the
original Japanese though... (with subtitles, obviously!). There are times
when I really feel at home with CNX. Can't get into Cowboy Bebop though.

Wouldn't surprise me. Shit, if Toon Disney can get away with making a 'Crap'
joke in The Weekenders, then why are Sky so soft?

I remember a while back when I got a Simpsons video (Crime & Punishment) for
my birthday: I was surprised to see how much was missing on the Sky versions
of the same episodes!

(sorry, not a big fan of DBZ in English or Japanese).

Bebop's an acquired taste - although raved about, it's episodic structure
can be extremely off-putting for many people. There aren't many "mature"
anime shows that dare to be episodic like this any more - save the recent
Witch Hunter Robin, made by the same studio.

Just bask in the musical wonder of the show instead.

I've ahh, never seen it! Always shown at the wrong time of day, usually when
I'm at work, and Nicktoons TV isn't much use because it closes at 7pm.
Didn't the show get axed though?

Wonder if WHR will get shown on CNX? I'll give CB another try tonight, if
only to hear it through my stereo!

Yes. Which is a great shame, as it truly is a very good show. Though there
are a few weak episodes here and there, the utter bizarreness of some of the
plots is mindblowing

eg. the episode "A Room With A Moose", where Zim sends his arch-rival Dib
into a wormhole on an interstellar school bus, which leads to... A Room With
A Moose. Dib is understandably not very scared, until Zim feeds the
Moose... with walnuts. On the view screen of the bus, Dib watches in horror
as the Moose chews the walnuts VERY SLOOOOWLY.
The screen switches back to Zim as he announces "Now I shall leave you to...
to...". Stuck for lines to say, his small insane robotic servant Gir
screams from off-camera "MOOSY FATE!". Zim looks annoyed. "GO ON! SAY IT!
MOOSY FATE!". Zim looks evil as he says "Your moosy fate". Gir screams
with laughter.

It's insane.

> Wonder if WHR will get shown on CNX? I'll give CB another try tonight, if

WHR isn't even licensed yet, and I suspect it isn't quite action packed
enough to pull a more mainstream audience in - plus the star of the show is
female, which is a definite no-no for most target demographics.
