Chloë Sevigny as a pre-op transsexual male to female learns
she has an eleven year old son and a ready made family
of half-siblings all needing her to be their legal guardian.
Which rather cramps her day work as a jobbing hit woman.

Quite enjoyed the opening episode, but it's resolutely
down beat. No sign of campness or frivolity, just moments
of brutal violence and bleak northern countryside. For an
American, Chloë Sevigny captures the Irish accent quite
convincingly to my ears and plays her part well as the
emotionless killer turned parent. I look forward to next
weeks ep.

It's on Anytime at the moment and it's repeated a few times
but I know the last repeat is next Monday at about 11, as
the next new ep's on Tuesday at 10.

Have you watched it?

I haven't, though I did DL it from the Anytime planner for possible later
consumption. The attraction in the first instance is the fact that Paul
Abbott is the writer.

I suppose it could, however, be another "Pucks" rather than a "Lyman's Boys".

In this case apparently so, at least going by the
quality of the first episode.

I must admit that when I first heard about the premise for this show,
it did sound like something that came out of a meeting between Alan
Partridge and a commissioning editor.

Ooh, I hope so!

Except for the fact that they were in no way gratuitous,
anymore than the shot of her breasts weren't either. But
of course you'd have actually to have seen the episode to
know this, so I forgive your ignorance.

Female genitals are very rarely seen in either mainstream
films or TV. Largely because they're usually hiding behind
a bush of pubic hair - which does actually get shown from
time to time, usually far more often than male genitalia
does.
