Bought a small own brand circular saw from B&Q last year. Blade wore
out and needed replacing. Diameter and shank combo is not that
common. So off to B&Q for a replacement.
They don't sell em. They still sell the machine. They also sell
blades for Bosch and Makita. But not their own kit.
B&Q custard services response? "We are not required by law to stock
spares"
Wankers. I hope they go the way of Comet.

Yes Mike I quite agree. I bought a Bosch multi saw kit from them around 2 or
3 years ago, only used it twice, once to cut out part of the kitchen unit
(chipboard) to fit a dishwasher and the second time over here to cut a hole
6" X 12" from a partition wall (chipboard) and it failed halfway through.
Now given that I was working in a prison it is a real pain in the ass, it is
not easy getting in and out of these places to get alternative equipment.
Stripped it to find that one field winding is open circuit, no burning
armature and the rest in good condition. I reckon I will have a word with
them this weekend when I shall be in the UK. That failing, I shall rewind
the field myself and take my findings up with Bosch Germany. Just one thing,
I wonder if these so called reliable appliances are not made to a budget to
suit these large chains such as B&Q and the rest.

Asked the helpful droids to escalate my whinge. So they did.
Had a an email asking me to call them. Had a date and time in it
when they were available and everything. So I called.
The person dealing is on holiday. This the day after they asked me
to call. Left an alternative number and a request for a
callback.Nothing.
