Where's the mail?

One of my skills is scripting stuff in various flavours. Got mailed
by a Health Service bod this week asking for a favour. Worked with
him before, I know him well.

So when I got his mail I read through it and thought, I can do that.
I replied , he replied, I replied, you get the picture. But as is
normal these days the mail length got longer as neither of us
deleted any of it.

So when I needed to refer back to an earlier mail I just scrolled
through the thread.

ANd then I realised he was replying with a couple of lines, but had
a twenty line signature at the end of every mail! Makes reading the
thread mighty difficult.

Asked him about this madness and he tells me it is 'mandatory
guidance'! And he nearly got disciplined for not using the
signature.

Wouldn't be too bad if it even had relevance to me as a contractor.
But do I really need to know how to change my password in their AD
system? Do I need to know how to log on to the NLMS system? Or that
my family needs me to be a flu fighter? The rest of the stuff was
equally pointless. But I didn't print the mails, I thought of the
planet.

And you guys are paying taxes to employ managers in the NHS who
mandate this stuff? No wonder the service is screwed.
