Yes she is right, John Hughes wrote this( 1872-1914).
Does she get royalties?.

As to royalties she is just glad somebody else confirmed her belief.
He was her great grandfather.
The local school in Swansea is changing its name to THE DANIEL JAMES
COMMUNITY SCHOOL saying HE had wrote Calon Lan.
Was he responsible for the music then?
She also says if you want help with your diet she will post so tips.

I can confirm that the music was definitely written by John Hughes (1872 - 1914) and the words by Daniel James. There is some confusion on some websites as there was another composer calles John Hughes (1873 - 1932) around at the same time who wrote CWM RHONDDA.Funnily enough, the first John Hughes (Calon Lan) was my great grandfather as well (his daughter Rosalind May Hughes, who married Aneurin lewis) was my grandmother, so we must be related!!
