Cheers Colin, I had already looked there but thanks for the thought.
I only asked here after failing to find anything on the web, perhaps
there aren't any! Seem to be several in Bristol and Clifton but a
shortage in Cardiff. I'll just have to go back to "Champers" ( I
think, bottom of St. Mary's St.)

Porto's just up the road is a Portuguese restaurant.
They do quite a good range of espatata's <sp?>
Not bad value.
As for Spanish, not a great deal of choice here in cardiff I'm afraid.
La Brasserie (mainly meat) and Le Monde (mainly fish) next door to
Champers (all owned by the same people) are also good.

To those with the sensible answers, many thanks. I have actually
tried the one next door, by mistake, and it' very similar, quite good.
We come up fairly often from the darkest depths of West Wales to the
"big city" but I was just wonderering if there was any new restaurants
that I didn't know about. Thanks a lot.

Porto's is excellent, think you'd need to book at weekends, it's really
busy. The chicken piri piri is a bit warm!
Strange but I can't think of a single Spanish restaurant in Cardiff, it's
full of Italians.
Mind you, every time i go to Spain all the restaurants seem to serve roast
dinners and all day english breakfasts - perhaps Frank should try the Black
& White on penarth road :-)
Not the restaurants that I go to! We go to Spain quite a bit and make
a point of avoiding anything that sells "english".
