I often send local-themed postcards to keep in touch with family, send
birthday greetings, etc. I was wondering where in London I can get
relatively cheap postcards featuring city scenes. I'm afraid if I go to an
area which is too touristy I might end up paying too much.
I work around Liverpool Street and Old Street, so anywhere around there
would be best.
Regards,
Tristan

Yes, anywhere around there WOULD be best.
No tourists go to the Liverpool Street area unless they are lost.

Yeah... unfortunately, I didn't see any postcards being sold at the station
this morning, nor on the way to work.
Do they have to be Central London? Suburban post offices often sell
postcards of the suburb in question, but I have no idea whether they are
cheaper or dearer than the ones of Central London.

We are the Strasbourg. Referendum is futile.

No, anywhere will do. I suppose I'll check my local post office in
Leytonstone to see if they have any postcards, though I don't recall seeing
any last time I was there.
In other news, I was in Liverpool Street and Stratford stations today, and
the WH Smiths there were selling postcards for 99p. That seems a tad much—
I recently got back from a trip to Rome were some souvenir shops were
selling postcards for 10 cents each.
There uis a good card shop (or used to be) just across the road from
Leytonstone station. Try there.
99p is usual (or at least not UNusual) for postcards in the UK.
Touristy postcards in places like Italian cities sell by the 1000s which
brings the price right down. Oh, and their quality is usually crap when
compared to ours.
