No Music!!!..every club and bar in Ryde and loads in Sandown had music
for all three ( some 4 ) days. More than any previous year
No Market!!! The usual dealers were out in force at the Speedway Track
Catering....this is not the Festival. There was catering at the
speedway track, the rest are in bars, hotels and resteraunts and thus
make this the Island biggest event.
They may possible have been talking about the Sunday Rideout which went
to Arreton rather than the usual Sandown Rugby Club, but most people
enjoyed the change...maybe it wasn't to everybodies taste, but onwards
and upwards

All of our guests commented on the lack of facilities at Arreton..... I
believe the general agreement was that it "just finished in a field"
and that the nearest pub couldn't cope with the influx of people.
Those that go on the ride every year said that,. at the Rugby club there is
food, music etc- a reason to spend time (and money) there.
At Arreton there was nothing.
Anyone know why they couldn't/ didn't go to the Hurricanes this year??
The only other "complaint" was SV service buses from Ryde, not being able to
cope with the sheer numbers of people wishing to travel after Midnight.

It was a shame about the change. The rugby club have for several years
been reluctant about hosting the end of the Rideout..and I think Arreton
underestimated the numbers involved....and how much money could be made.
The Rideout basically needs a decent organised event at the end of it.
We planned one this year for Rugby Club, but they pulled out at the last
moment.
Hopefully next year this can be addresses.
I'm not involved directly ( apart from running a couple of 'do's' in
Ryde and DJing for Hipshaker...but that may change next year ;-)

people are not wanting to drive into Ryde so they get the Train, buses
or cabs there. The return journey at 2AM is a nigtmare with as many as
1000 people waiting for cabs (at �30 to Shanklin) or night buses.
Somebopdy should talk to the bus companies about laying on extra buses ;-)

very good soul club on the Island.
Most of the stuff we play over here is popcorn, but love Bobby Bland
(have everything he did on Duke)
Used to DJ in London in the 80's but had a break until moving here

At the Rally we DJ for Hipshaker at the Castle, we also do our own
regular night at the Black Sheep Bar.
