My contact is an ex Pat. been out there for 7 years. Suit respectable and
experienced person over 40 years of age

"Genuinely" interested people send brief details of experience with a
telephone land line number to me at mikedotcroweoneatbtinternetdotcom and I
will call you and have a chat about it.

Had a two enquiries with regards to 'Electrics' and 'Marine Electrics',
What's the difference?

Industrial and Household Electrics are, as one of them said, much the same
with single or three phase, "What else can Marine Electrics be?"

24 Volt. 240 Volt AC. Inverters and Converters for same.

Cathodic Protection Wiring, which has 'nothing to do' with the boats'
electrics.

24v, 240v and Gas Fridges

Shore Supply.

Supplies of differing voltages (sometimes but not often) for Navigational
Radars and Communications Equipment. In general, a Marine Electrician does
not deal with the installation and tuning of these, but must be competant to
converse with those tuning same with regards to supplies of same.

Bilge Pumps and Automatic Pumping, sometimes with Bridge notification.

Supplies and wiring to Echo Sounders and Bridge repeaters.

Some of the larger Yachts and Motor Cruisers are Chartered and must comply
with certain specifications, such as Lloyds or more commonly DNV because of
Insurance and 'Passenger' carrying. The business of Emergency Lighting and
Power requirements comes into these specs., especially capacity to have
Emergency Lights on for XX hours fed by Batteries. (Not the same Batteries
which are supplying the Communication Radios etc!!)

and more, including Engine Electrics and Cathodic Protection of Engines,
Shafts, Props and Water Systems

Hope this has helped those interested and possibly mystified.

And a recommendation. Working on boats can be very cramped, so a 'not too
large body' is very useful!! :-))

That's fine Mike.

However, you might have skipped the last line Mike. It only shows the sort of
people that the candidate will be working for...

Who are you to approve of a posting on this newsgroup?

Go and read the posting again. Do try to get things right if you are in
charge and are going to take it into your head to approve or correct people.
Would suggest you shut up. As I have said, you always seem to make a bloody
fool of yourself.

As I said, if you haven't added the last line, clearly intended to put two
fingers at the regulars in this group, then everything would have been fine,
and I wouldn't have commented on your job offer.

Is not offending regulars too much to ask?

You have failed to answer my question.

Who do you think you are to approve or not approve of a posting quoting a
job/appointment/situation which someone might be interested in?

This is a public forum; everybody can express their views and opinions
within reason and subject to rules and normal expectations. Different views
and opinions is not a problem, decent and polite behaviour IS. This is not
my laws or regulations, but it is enshrined in usenet Acceptable Usage
Policy as well as your ISP conditions which you can look up yourself.
However, Mike has failed on all such criteria on numerous occasions, he is
a well known news group bully an pain in the ass.

Not to those I have helped with positive advice to get jobs and appointments
such as this present one :-))

And your contribution to the newsgroup?

Answer. Nit picking and net nannying

Last word from me.

Johannes will now respond with something derogatory, 'cos he 'has' to in his
'last word' contribution.

Why? I have already said what was necessary.

I have to say that Mike's original post and follow-ups smacks slightly of
double standards. The last line of the original post is both insulting
and pejorative. I'm sure he must realise that he cannot demand that
readers of his posting must follow his bidding, yet he adds the line
anyway. Later he claims that Johannes does not have 'authority' to make
certain 'fair-comment' statements. He's right, of course. Neither Mike nor
Johannes have 'authority' to command obedience of other posters. That's
the way Usenet works, and I love it that way :-)

I'm sorry - is this just the 5 minute argument or the full

Agreed 100% . I never claimed any authority on usenet and expect different
opinions and views. This is contrary to Mike, who will bully you if your
views differ from his.

I have to say, and I don't like to say this because of the risk of being
called a net nanny by someone: Aren't you joining in yourself?

One thing you learn on this NG, don't try to have a sense of humour,
especially with a J & M spat session well in progress, which will usually
run itself out after about three weeks.

AND you didn't get an answer. But Grey gave you an estimate, and I'm

No, I got the reference.

However, Mike is a pain in the arse and has virtually killed this newsgroup
by his pontification. I have stopped joining in as Johanne puts things far
better than I can but still doesn't get through.

I've never been there, but I'm sure the message level would blow me
away. I'm already dealing with around 300 messages a day - I can't
handle the forums I'm already contributing to.

But I'm sure it's fun.

He's no good by himself. The reason togdom works is that the producer
selects reasonably humorous letters. The listeners write the script.
