..after you have let your hot glue gun drip where it oughtn't..

soak in isproplyl alcohol (I used industrial surgical spirit, methanol
ethanol and isopropyl)
glue stays there, but loses its grip and can be scraped or peeled off.

Also remember for superglue ACETONE is the only thing that shifts
it.(well there are a few others, but they are hard to obtain)

Oh and alcohol also gets of unset EPOXY for cleaning up those pottery
repairs before popping them in a low oven to set..
