Can anyone recommend a decent book-keeping/accountancy package? Something
that covers PAYE, generates P45/P60s, etc. I've looked at the blurbs for
Clearly Book-keeping and SAGE Instant Accounts Financial Suite. Does anyone
use either or these, and if so do you have any comments?

Cheers,
SB

Sage is clunky and forces you into keeping a fairly detailed purchase
and sales ledger. I've given up on it

Try Pastel which has a light version for about £100 which is basically
a cash book and Nominal Ledger. I'm about to switch. Sage payroll is
OKish though. although I might switch when the new NI and tax rules
come in

I'm using the moneysoft line of products:

I haven't run the payroll programs myself, but friends and acquaintances
run businesses with up to a dozen employees and claim the payroll
programs are good.

The moneysoft payroll package looks to offer what I need, at less cost than
the others, so I will go with that, and let you know how I get on.
