Does anyone know if there is an app released or if it was included in the
new version for a different sound for the Calendar Alert. I have always
felt it is too quiet for its purpose.

Other apps are not able to access the iPhone's calendars, so you
basically need to look for iPhone OS updates. I'm afraid I don't know
if the calendar alert got louder in 3.0 :-(

You can change the calendar alert sound, but you need to have a jailbroken
iPhone first.

Guess I'm stuck with it then. It would have been nice if they'd have
improved it in the new update!

More annoying for me is the lack of a repeating calendar alert (a la SMS).
Looking for a solution to that is how I came across the alert-tone
replacement thingy (and also how to alter the vibrate duration).

This might be of interest:

A 3rd party push-reminder app. Has repeat alarms, although doesn't mention
much about the alert sound side of things (except that there /is/ one)...

Didn't realise, but the free version of NotifyMe is actually out. Has a
couple of limitations (compared to the paid version). Just tried an alert -
it seems louder than the calendar. Try it out.
