More data, please.

I've had a look at the Grauniad's Website and I can't see any means of
subscribing to any of what it alleges are its podcasts.

They're listed on the rhs of this page:

<http://www.guardian.co.uk/audio>

but I followed the link to (eg) the Tech Weekly one and I can't see any
`subscribe' links at all, for example. Nor with any of the others I
tried more or less at random.

What have you tried? With what urls?

Rowland.

It looks like a special one-off, not something that can be subscribed to
(they may be testing whether it's worthwhile?). There's no subscription
link to the m4a versions.

You can drop the downloaded m4a file into iTunes; it will transfer to
your iPhone but will be under "music", not "podcasts" (technically
speaking it's not a podcast because it hasn't been subscribed to, though
it's a shame you can't manually mark it as a podcast).

That sounds right Zoara. I learned how to add a self made Ringtone to
iTunes, I thought there might be some trick to add an m4a to the
podcast section.

Subscription needs to be made thorugh iTunes I believe. This one seems
to be a one off. But as I said in my reply to Zoara, I thought there
might be a trick to add it to the Podcasts section of iTunes....

btw the tech week podcast is a very good one unlike the ghastly BBC
Focus podcast...

So-called tech news from any general news source is always crap in my
experience, normal journalistic standards normally being totally
ignored. Even New Scientist isn't immune - for decades, they had a
reporter (Barry Fox) who wrote about new patents and things ilke that,
and every single time he wrote abotu something I had information about,
my opinion was `Barry, you've got it totally wrong and utterly missed
the point. And this man was a regular in New Scientist!

Tech news is for the most part blinkered ignorance on the part of the
reporters and reproducing company propaganda - the BBC is very strong on
promoting MS, for example.
