Just unboxed a new MacBook and noted these new ones come with a revised
keyboard, with the function keys matching those on the new iMac
keyboards. Presume the next round of MacBook Pro revision will change
their keyboards too.

I suppose that counters my earlier post about why they're different
then. Annoying for me though, as my two most used Expose functions
(F10/F11) don't map to anything, but I suppose I can get used to
something else come upgrade time. Upgrade time is still some way off
for me though - perhaps as much as a year off.

Cheers,
Ian

Yeah. I have also just spotted now I'm setting the machine up, that
they've changed the lower enter key, which was bloody useful, into a
secondary alt key, which isn't. I'd definitely have to remap that.

What with? I've been using Doublecommand for all my remapping needs so
far.

That doesn't seem to be able to remap back the way it was. Might have to
wait on an update? The machine in question isn't mine, so less of an
issue currently, but as that key will accept various dialogue boxes the
return key won't, it's extremely handy and so I noticed it's absence as
soon as I started using the machine. The end user probably won't even
notice the change in the keyboard.

That's what I was suspecting - but the new keyboard MacBooks have only
been out a couple of weeks now. Might drop a suggestion to the
author(s) if it's not done by the time I get such a keyboard.

I didn't know that... but then I only recently learnt that while it's
return for the blue button, it's also space for the blue-ringed
button.

Ukelele seems a bit more on the ball, at least aware of the new
keyboards.

Ah, this one used to crack them both, which is why I'd miss it.

I hope they don't make the MBP keyboard like the square keys on the MB
and iMac. I'm not sold on them at all, and was planning on getting a
MBP when they update it.
