Back from Devon. Weather great. iPhone 3G [not-S] *superb*.

Much happen while I was gone? Apart frm SJ apparently having a liver

Trying not to be smug about that. Failing, somewhat.

I went to Cornwall - Newquay, to be precise, on a business trip.

Stayed in a lovely hotel overlooking Porth bay. Got a suntan.

Indeed they are.

I bought a 3G 16GB a couple of weeks ago - it's all jailbroken and
unlocked now.

Also running the Navigon sat-nav software - which is also excellent.

I may have to investigate the whole 'unlocking' thing, as I want my own
text message sounds.

Not entirely - the Guardian had a piece back in January suggesting it
might be a possibility.

Nope. Ring tones you can add your own, message sounds not.

Summer's back on now after a grey day - at least in Plymouth.

Are you sure you don't just want to wait for the OS updates to give you
those features?
