A few weeks ago Aden suggested: "We should maybe think about having a meeting somewhere like the phoenix where dc4420 is held, or the nell of old drury where 2600 meets used to be, they are likely to be empty enough on a monday."

Does anyone know how busy the Phoenix is on Mondays? We won't have the function room in the basement, would just the main area on the ground floor.

Let's decide very soon, would like to announce a venue in the next few hours if possible. Main alternative remains the Rich Mix Café for now.

Hey all,
very selfish request to follow:

Can a decision be made by Sunday, so I can make it? I'll be travelling for the majority of Monday from 5am JST (Sunday 9pm GMT ) till about 16:20 GMT and then unlikely to be online until late that evening. If a venue can be picked on the Sunday I can make it which would make me very happy. No real preference where.

Cheers!

I think Richmix is going to be better than a pub, just because it's so big and quiet.

(Whoops, just noticed I forgot to send this one. The announcement just went out.)

Since nobody replied otherwise or made any other suggestions: yeah let's stick with Rich Mix.

Will post the usual announcement now.

That's fine - as I already said, I don't want to make any sudden changes.

The main reason why I would like to move away from Rich Mix is that
last Monday the toilets there were in a horrific state, and the
previous week they were not much better.

So let's try and decide on a new location on Monday.

Hi,

I'm wondering about trying to find a venue near Kings Cross for northerners such as I :)

How many people come to the meetings, and do they require beer on tap?

It's normally 6-12 people. We don't require beer on tap - Rick Mix
doesn't serve beer and if anything things go a bit quicker when people
aren't drinking. A pub for afterwards is good, though.
