It may have been a federal holiday in the US of A, but it sure wasn't a
day offin the Ultimate Blogger universe! Today brought some of the most
dramatic twists and turns yet for our wannabe Ultimate Bloggers.
Accordingly, today's longer-than-usual Daily Digest also contains some
drama. You definitely don't want to miss the secrets revealed below.

RITCHEY GETS HIT WITH THE SILVER HAMMER (AND SICKLE)

We love the days that start with new videos! We were so anxious to find
out the results of the elimination vote this time, we woke up early and
watched the video while we were still in bed.

This is what our fearless hosts revealed: the voting had resulted in
yet another tie, this time between James and Ritchey! Each received 2
votes.
Apparently the Ritchey, Lyova, and Mimi alliance wasn't as rock solid
as it seemed. Here's what we know. Mimi and Ritchey voted, as planned,
for James, but Lyova jumped ship. He and James voted for Ritchey.

Lyova hinted to us a while ago (in a private message) that there were
"meta-alliances" happening, but we didn't know exactly what he meant
until today. We'll take a closer look at this meta-alliance of James
and Lyova below. For now let's get back to the elimination.

WE NEEDED YOU IN OHIO 6 MONTHS AGO, WW

Since Ritchey and James received the same number of votes, the level 1
tiebreaker had to be put into play. The player voted off would be the
one who had accumulated the most elimination votes in previous rounds.
Our hosts announced that this would be James. As Stalin says: "The
people who cast the votes decide nothing...The people who count the
votes decide everything,"

Luckily our own Nancy Novak burst into the scene to provide some much
needed checks and balances. Just as our hosts were holding James' photo
up to the shredder of doom, Willow (Nancy Novak's alter ego) stormed
in, valiantly defending her partner in merit badging. She saved James'
picture from the shredder and showed the Blogmasters that she's been
paying attention. It was actually Ritchey who had received more votes,
not James. And that's how Urban Honking's own Ritchey's path to
Ultimate-Bloggerdom came to an end.

Mike and Steve sent her a heartfelt goodbye, as did many commenters. We
will all miss her. The UHUBUGGG may not have cared for her last
challenge entry, but we've always been fans of hers in this game.

WHAT'S BEEN HIDING IN THE DARK CORNERS OF THE DEN

This is the challenge we've always been waiting for. The one in which
the players are asked to let us peer behind the digital curtain! This
week's challenge is an appropriately reflective one: Judges want to
know about "the private back room deals and the scheming that you did."
Strategies, setbacks, alliances and betrayals: spill the juicy details.
Each of the 2 remaining bloggers will try to tell us why he or she is
the Ultimate Blogger. The most valuable immunity of the game is at
stake, and the winner will get to decide who else will be in the final
2. It's risky business revealing your hand, but you can't win big if
you don't risk big.

*** TAIWANESE-BELARUSSIAN ALLIANCE ***

As we promised, here's a closer look at the James-Lyova meta-alliance.
You might think that this was a last minute arrangement -- an impulsive
strategic move on Lyova's behalf. You might think that, but you'd be
wrong.

Yesterday we received a very mysterious and intriguing gmail from
contestant James: "i thought i'd bring to your attention that you have
missed quite a few other little white rabbits (of the 2px variety) in
each of my posts that might reveal something rather sensational that i
thought you'd be interested in. and im not the only contestant hosting
such secrets..."

Something rather sensational? Hidden secrets? We're DEFINITELY
interested!

So we put our brilliant and fantastic technical advisory board on the
task immediately, and you'll never believe what they discovered. This
meta-alliance has been in place since the very first challenge, and
hints of it have been cleverly hidden right under all our noses!

As Ritchey mentioned in her blog today, this meta-alliance is calling
itself "Stalin," and it turns out James and Lyova have been cleverly
hiding secret links to various pictures of Josef Stalin in EVERY ONE OF
THEIR POSTS SINCE THE BEGINNING. He's hidden in the whitespace and we
didn't even notice!

We'll give you the full report from our techincal advisory board the
end of this DD (because it blows our mind how bold and sneaky this
alliance has been and we want to share it with you), but for now, check

Watch out, Mimi. Stalin is a VERY formidable opponent! You need
immunity more than ever this time!

HELL HATH NO FURY... / ALL'S FAIR...

As you might imagine, Ritchey was in no way happy with the results of
this round's tempestuous alliance shifts. We'll let her speak for
herself:

"Lyova is a coward and an enemy of the people. My heart has become a
small and incredibly dense ball of hatred in my chest. To wake up on
this, our country's glorious Memorial Day, only to find that my comrade
and brother for the past 5 weeks has betrayed me for a Merit Badger. My
only goal in life now is to see Lyova crushed under the bootheels of
tyranny, for he is a wretched coward."

Ritchey's not the only one who's mad. Willow discovered that the
partner she had valiantly rescued in that morning's video had actually
been part of another alliance all along. In her eyes, that deserves
more than a demerit badge. Here's her fiery response:

"Ritchey, We should have had an all girl alliance. We should have had a
west coast alliance. We should have been the alliance of insiders. We
should have been loners. Anything but trust the only two who would
betray us. James. Lyova. We loved you well. You played well, but you
played us! The injustice! The shame! The lies! Woe is us!"

It certainly hurts to be on the losing end of a betrayal, but it's a
jungle out there, etc. Our bet is that if only they had found a way to
get the upper hand Ritchey and Willow would have done some
double-crossing of their own.

Everybody seems to have a secret this week, and our hosts are no

Guys, that's really flattering, but come on; you can't have ALL the fun

enquiries we've received, we're not answering any questions about the
identities of the BUGGG at this time.

Also, nice try at hacking our gmail account, but better luck next time.
