Good MARS Volk, All, Greetings!

Though I know a number of you are already on the Bryn Madoc listserv, I wanted all of you to know how much I appreciated your contributions this past weekend.  All who had a hand in making Dreamstone XXXIII a success can feel justifiably proud of your part in the festivities, and this ol’ dinosaur couldn’t be happier that MARS is such a big part of Bryn Madoc’s recent past, present, and future…..

Ever for Madoc, MARS, and the great things we will do together,    AEdward of Glastonburh, called the Saxon (well, since late A.S. XI, anyway…..<G>…..)

Subject: [Bryn-L] Dreamstone XXXIII: Thanks from the Marshal.....

Good Madoc Folk All, Greetings!

Please allow me to add my voice to those expressing thanks for how well things went this past weekend. Here's an exerpt from my marshal's report filed on the heavy fighting:

"I have been involved in marshaling heavy combat since A.S. XI, and I have to say that this was about the smoothest run day of heavy fighting I've ever been associated with. The marshals, heralds, list runners, and most especially the fighters all worked together to ensure that the lists progressed with a minimum of lost time and confusion. In fact, although we were an hour late beginning the first list, we made the hour up and put the even back on schedule in spite of the challenge of running a 30-person double elimination list. The 16-person, single elimination second list ran equally smoothly."

This was true because of the stellar work put up by Margala and her list folks, assisted by Petros Mystikos and given winged feet of Mercury by her runners Griffen and Andric. They were part of a larger team that included the Heraldic staff headed by Matheus Blackett, and ably supported by Guntram von Koln, and Lucas/Simone. Our marshals included Pardus, Edward O'Dea, William the Scrivener, and a promising young lad by the name of Kenneth Grey. What makes the work of these folks particularly stellar is that for many of them, it was their first time working in these various roles in a tournament.

And again, I have to especially thank the fighters for remaining attentive to the progress of action on the field. It was due to everyone's commitment to working together that we had a great day on the list field. Everyone got to get in plenty of fighting and nobody was hurt, just what we hope for every time we get together like this.

Also a quick word of thanks to Mara Palmer and especially Siegfried the Golden Eagle. These 'crats went the extra mile to help us logistically on the field, and I'm grateful for their part in making the heavy fighting a success.

Hope that everyone associated with the heavy fighting enjoyed it.

Ever for Madoc, AEdward

P.S. Margala will have copies of the marshal's report for Domhnall and Pardus at the officer's meeting tonight.....
