Examples of Promotional Emails for the College of Education "Drop, Shop & Swap Recycle Fest"

Message sent to COE Staff, Faculty, & Students on 11/10/09:
Dear All-
I know we will all be honoring our military friends, family and
veterans tomorrow. Once you’ve paid your respects, please begin
looking through your closets, garages and even under the kids’ beds
for items to bring out next Tuesday, November 17th from 3:30-4:00pm
for the COE Inaugural “Drop, Shop, and Swap Recycle Fest” in the
Norman Courtyard.

Here are some ideas of items to bring in the three collection
categories we’ve chosen:
1. Clothes-basically, this should be gently used items of clothing
that other people would be interested in; think of what would be
sorted for a garage sale
2. Home items-candles, holiday decorations, picture frames, figurines,
children’s toys, games, artwork, novels, etc.
3. Office/educational-file folders, pens, markers, office trays,
staplers, memo pads, dry erase boards/markers, children’s books,
calendars, magazines, catalogs (these three would be for school
collage projects).

…and for those of you who are wondering, please do not bring the scary
stuff. For example: paint, batteries, electronic equipment, medical
waste, etc. Please keep in mind that the City of Gainesville and the
UF Office of Sustainability will be represented at the event and can
answer questions pertaining to these items and steer you in the right
direction for proper recycling or disposal.

We will begin accepting items on Thursday, so drop me a line and we
will coordinate a drop off location on property for you. Thanks and we
hope to see you on Tuesday, November 17th at 3:30pm in the
courtyard!!

or just sip some pop…

What, you say? The COE Inaugural Drop, Shop & Swap Recycle Fest, in
conjunction with America Recycles Day.

When? 3:30p.m.
Tuesday, November 17, 2009

Where? Norman Courtyard

Why? To participate in games & win prizes, find fun office &
home items for trade, and learn ways to reduce waste & recycle at the
College of Education/Norman Complex.
