So to give a little background. John Heiss is a PhD candidate at UCLA in Cell and Molecular Biology. He also races in our collegiate conference. Over the past few years he has been developing his own sports drink called Prolong Energy. His website: http://www.prolongenergy.com/index.html. This is a sports specific drink mix to be used on the bike intended to improve performance and stamina. John has spent a lot of time on this stuff and you can check it out.

Anyway, John is offering us half off on all his products. This is good stuff to use on the bike, I've used it before and it's like liquid calories. If you have trouble stomaching food when you ride, this is good to use. Anyway, I've attached the order form.

Do not worry about the shipping address or billing address. All I want on this form is your name and your order. It's pretty simple. Please get the order into me by Sunday Night if you want to possibly have prolong by the end of net week (and are in SB). If you are not in SB, prolong will be sorted and ready when you come back from break.

There will be other orders later this year but this one will have the biggest discount.

hey guys-

John has been sponsoring my amateur team for quite some time, so I am quite familiar with prolong. I can't recommended it highly enough for several reasons:

1.) protein + carbohydrates both keep you going at the end of long rides, AND aid in recovery, so you're not as f'd for the next day.

2.) its easy on your stomache: of you can't keep it down or won't drink it, it can't help you.

3.) well thought out electrolytes: not crazy amounts of sodium like some sports drinks.

Also, blueberry is delicious.

If anyone wants to try some I have some sample packs at my apartment, shoot me an email.

Please excuse the brevity- this was sent from my phone.
