VIEW THE ITINERARY

please see  'attachment GLOBAL VILLAGE 2009 EL SALVADOR TRIP ITINERARY.doc ' under the Files folder for a day to day description of our trip.

TRAVEL DATES

The planned travel dates are from Saturday, December 12- Tuesday, December 22. Arriving on the weekend allows students to adjust to their new surroundings, explore the country and relax before build week.  We will be building at the sites from Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm.

COST

Minus airfare, the cost for El Salvador is $500, which includes, food, lodging, and transportation to and from the airport in San Salvador, our beach house residence, and the build site, which is about 20 minutes away.  The general cost for Peru is $500From last year’s trip, we estimate that personal spending is between $175-300, depending on which excursions you would like to participate in and how much you buy (e.g. souvenirs, additional driving costs for transportation that is not to the build site, beach house residence, or airport, though we usually get excellent deals). Airfare is separate and costs between $500-700.

Let us know if you are interested in volunteering abroad to help many families in need and experience what your host country has to offer!  There is still time to apply, so contact Katrina Laygo regarding applications for El Salvador and Colleen Hill for questions about Peru and next year's trip.
