Getting spammed on the staff account is no fun, but there's actually
practical reasons why we should switch to the newsgroup.

As we can see by the low volume of posts, this will be an ideal place to
inhabit. Morover, with the amount of technical questions posed to staff,
the newsgroup can better address those questions. (And it differentiates
from spam as well. Sometimes I can't even tell what's spam and what's
not).

Google automatically links different messages in the same thread, so users
with questions can just find their thread.

Staff can then be used for administrative questions.

we really need to do something about this spam...

I completely agree, as a former staff member until very recently.
staff@ gets way too much spam. although you just hit d, it does get
confusing esp if you check email fewer than twice a day or so...
sadly...

I think posting here is good since it is easier to see everything in a
thread. plus ppl could search past user queries to staff, something
that never really has happened. The support pages are in shambles.

Good idea, keep it up! =)

Totally, I agree... even if one is not a staff member, this is a great
place
to go whenever you have questions.. - esp. ones that are very regular.
As a user too, instead of waiting for staff to reply, one can just
look on the newsgroup.

just my two cents...
