Hello everyone.

I absolutely love the functionality of Ubiquity but it seems counter
intuitive to me that for a tool that is supposed to save me time and
make natural connections between my habits and the webs content I have
to set the tool itself up multiple times (per machine) rather than
once (per user profile).

For instance I have just spent the past hour going through "the herd"
command list adding the once i find useful plus adding my own
searchbox commands but now i am working on my laptop and will have to
redo the entire thing again to gain the same functions when im mobile
rather than just syncing it via a web user profile.

Is this feature maybe already available and I have missed it?
Or is it planned?

Hi Jannis,

That's a great suggestion... I myself don't know of a slick way to do this—perhaps this would be a good place to plug into Weave? (http://labs.mozilla.com/2007/12/introducing-weave/)

Unfortunately I am not a developer more of an avid user. And from what
I have read about the Weave project it could very well tie into this
but with a serious amount of coding.
While that would be very very good. It is nothing I could do myself so
I can hardly expect anyone to just jump on this idea and do it for me.
That being said, it would be a great addition to the service I think.

A more—temporary—solution could for example be with a unbiquity
"library" file that could be hosted by either mozilla or via ones own
FTP/WebDAV or other service like MobileMe/DropBox perhaps. So changes
would just be written to that file and would be updated for each
computer once that computer connects to the file.
But again, I wouldn't even know how to begin doing something like
this.

Certainly am gonna keep using Ubiquity and since it is in beta stage
maybe this feature will make its way into a later release.

Copying "ubiquity_ann.sqlite" from your profile directory to the other should work.
A hackish solution until Ubiquity gets syncing capability.
