This morning I turned on my computer (I turned it off Tuesday before
Thanksgiving) and ubiquity started giving this error probably every
5-10 seconds, and the error locks up firefox, so I can't do anything
unless I disable ubiquity. Here is the error:

Alert!
ubiquity.mozilla.com:443 uses an invalid security certificate.

Because it's self signed blah blah.

Any idea what I need to do and what I did?

Arg, sorry about that fREW.  I was just reconfiguring our web-server and it looks like I made the Ubiquity experience of everyone this morning a bit more frustrating in the process. :(  It should be fixed now, though--let me know if you're still having troubles.

This also happens to me on my college network a few times a day.
Our college network requires a web-based authentication and has it's
own security cert that triggers errors with Ubiquity. I usually have
to hit enter a tons of times before I log in.

I'd suggest that Ubiquity checks if there's a net connection before
proceeding, or even just waiting until invoked before complaining.

Thanks,

- Kevin

Hey Kevin,

Would you mind filing a bug on this? Thanks!

I have this same problem at my college network. I have to close about
10 dialogue boxes before I can log in to my college network.

I have this problem too. Everytime Iam connecting to our college
network via wifi I need to authorize myself. But before that I need to
close all these alerts, which is quiet annoying. I have found this bug
report (propably), but seems that nobody work on that. Ticket #501
(new defect) [ https://ubiquity.mozilla.com/trac/ticket/501 ]. Anybody
from the developers interested in???

There are two bug reports filed on this already:

http://ubiquity.mozilla.com/trac/ticket/420
https://ubiquity.mozilla.com/trac/ticket/501

and I confirmed it is the same for me when signing on to a wifi
hotspot where the security certificate doesn't match the domain name.

I know Atul is aware of it.
