I would like to use the It's All Text add-on so I can edit my commands
in MacVim (as I am now). Should also work for TextMate. But IAT
doesn't seem to work in the Ubiquity Command Editor... the context
menu item is there but nothin happens when I select it. I suspect it
is because of the weird chrome:// protocol. I know this is really not
so much Ubiquity's problem as IAT's, & I'll also request the developer
of IAT for a fix for this.

If anybody knows of a workaround so I can edit commands live in my
editor of choice I'd love to hear it. I have some ideas for commands
but editing code in a textarea is not something I want to do. Neither
is copying and pasting every time I want to test. Hey I could even
work on a Ubiquity vim syntax if I can get this to work :)

Cheers

quick update ... actually IAT is loading MacVIm, but when I save the
file, the Textarea isn't updating. I now suspect it is some sort of
Javascript clash....

We're going to have a "save as" button that lets you edit your code in an external editor. It'll be in the next release. See http://labs.toolness.com/trac/ticket/274 for details. It's not as good as the IAT integration but it should suffice for now.

If you are interested, you could work on a whole bunch of things regarding the command editor like the syntax highlighting, tabs, etc. (http://labs.toolness.com/trac/ticket/251)
