So far the statistics show that most of the typists of Typeracer are
in the favor of OLD PRACTICE track, and the result of the voting is as
follows: (at the time of writing this post)
Yes, I like that single-player race scores aren't being saved any
longer. 38.38% (104 votes)
No, I prefer the old way. 47.23% (128 votes)
I don't care either way. 14.39% (39 votes)
Total Votes: 271
And I think Alex should either change the new track to old practice
track or introduce the new practice track as a separate universe.

I'm inclined to reverse the change as well. I invented the "Practice Racetrack" for ghost races. But if people just want to race on random texts but without opponents, they should be able to do that as well.

Racing alone and racing against others are two different things. There
is pressure involved in the latter. A 120 wpm scored alone is
obviously not the same as a 120 wpm scored while competing against 4
other racers. Mixing the scores up and giving them both the same
weightage is more than anything, unfair.
If there are 128 people who have voted against the change, there are
104 who have voted for it, so it is almost a 50/50 thing. This means
that a solution that is acceptable to both parties needs to be
provided here.
Creating a separate universe for practice races whose scores will be
saved but will not be mixed up with the scores of competitive races
seems to be the only fair solution to this problem.
Keeping them separate might even act as a challenge for the practice
racers to want to prove themselves in competitive races as well, thus
making competitive races even more fun.
Thanks.

It was 25th of January when I wrote this thread and I asked Alex to
bring back the old practice track but some of the typists here shared
their ideas but today when I checked the blog, I saw the result of the
voting which is very different from 25th of January because at that
time the people in the favor of new practice track were 104 and
against were 128. Today the people in the favor are 105 (only one vote
increased) while the people against are 143 (15 votes increased).
So it shows that Alex should think over the old practice track because
most of the people here want that the races played in the practice
mode should be counted in their number of races.
Regards
Comrade..

I would like to again like to bring up this issue, as I would very
much like to use the practice track for self-improvement. I find the
races against other opponents place undesired pressure on me, causing
me to make mistakes that I normally don't make. I would like to track
my progress, but right now I can't do this with the practice track.
For the past few months I haven't been using Typeracer because I have
been waiting for the practice track to record results again. Please
bring back this feature!
The latest results from the poll:
Yes, I like that single-player race scores aren't being saved any
longer. 35.55% (107 votes)
No, I prefer the old way. 50.83% (153 votes)
I don't care either way. 13.62% (41 votes)
Total Votes: 301

To be honest I would suggest Alex to close this Forum. It's been
almost 5 months since this thread started and nothing has been done.
Not only this but so many other threads where users are either asking
for updates or introducing better ways of catching cheaters but again
nothing is getting done here.
I request Alex to please respond to users ,at least update us what is
being done or Typeracer Roadmap . :)
Thanks
