I received the proper connectors for the bed today so it is hooked up.  And I finished that part of the firmware so it actually gets warm and everything.  You may also notice that I have a real connector on the head heater.  
 
 
It's starting to look a little less like a total kludge.

Are there any concerns with the solder joints on the heated bed?  What temp will your heated bed be running at?

Good question. I hadn't thought to worry about it. The solder should be OK but the PVC-insulated wire I hooked it up with might be a problem.

From what I've seen, bed temperatures don't get much over 100 C.
Even 63/37 solder doesn't melt until over 130 C.
For the SN97C I have, it's well over 200 C

Yeah, I wouldn't worry about the solder melting as much as just weakening
the solder joint or possibly lifting a pad. It will be interesting to see
if you have any problems with the design. I really like the way it looks.
