On Friday we had our first and last meeting for team cnc lathe rebuild.  I thought it was going to take a few weeks to get the little lathe up and working again.  It ended up taking Roland, Chris, and me two hours and it was cleaned and under control of LinuxCNC ready to do some work.

I will bring in a QCTP next week and some tooling.  Greg ordered a new safety shield.  Then a chuck key needs to be made and it is done.

Anyone have to experience CAMing a cnc lathe?

Dolphin Lathe is really awesome but it’s like…  $800 retail.  A bit much for using around the house for fun.  Great software though.  Might be able to hit them up and get a free educational license.

We had a cnc lathe emco 5 PCM donated by Jeremy. It ran a DOS program through a serial port. A small modification was made to use ecm2 software.
