3D CAD Class

I was interested in the 3D CAD class but see it uses Inventor. I would be doing hobby use which makes the cost of Inventor prohibitive.

How applicable would the class be for the free or inexpensive equivalent software? I do know drafting having taken it in college decades ago and have worked with 2D CAD some.

I have played with Sketch-up but cannot get to the point of doing accurate drawings or even reasonable sketches. What I probably need is a one day starter class in it or something similar.

You don't need inventor Almost any 3 d software will work
