Just wanted some thoughts on my first Twitter app. It allows the user
to just visit a simple page fill out 3 fields and then there tweet
will be live. The app is at http://www.the-dream.co.uk/quicktweet/ its
not styled yet, but will be soon...

Good job! What language did you use to code this?

Nice job. I have a similar one I use. View the source if you want to

Why should I trust you with my password? Have you thought of using OAuth?

Best of luck,

Good question. You shouldn't trust me (or *any 3rd party*) with your
password. The problem is that almost all twitter users do (either
because they don't know it's wrong or don't care). Do you know of an
OAuth solution for twitter credentials?

OAuth needs to be a priority. Hopefully great enough stability and performance have been achieved at this point that there's light at the end of the OAuth tunnel ...

It's still a priority for us, but one we're rolling into a general
refresh of the API.

I wrestled with a similar issue when I wanted to make a bookmarklet to
tweet a webpage I was visiting. I got around it by having a cgi script
that simply shortened the url (using is.gd) and then redirects you to
twitter's site to finish the post. I realize this may not be "quick"
but I like the solution over posting through my server (which I don't
run). Your username/password never go through my server.

Incidentally, if you are not logged into twitter's site you are
redirected to login, after logging twitter will redirect you to your
post.
