what's the most painless way to update status using m.twitter?

I understand that I can't pass a status update via link on mobile
twitter because of the clickjacking potential. But is there another
way that's relatively painless (i.e. I'm a complete newbie when it
comes to the twitter API)? It seems like going the full oAuth + API
route is overkill to achieve the same functionality that a desktop
browser does with a simple href.
