Hi Alex and team.

I have seen this request on the group before about being able to
delete via the API. But I want to bring this up again because I have
started to find this is probably small feature that is missing quite
fustrating.

Tweetr is not one of the most complete desktop applications so far and
now implements, the new Replies Tab and even Driect Messages View with
pictures. It supports sending direct messages and of course replies.
Adobe will be showcasing this application on thier website very soon
with details and a screenshot on thier website (super cool).

But the most fustrating thing I am now finding is the ability to
delete a post that I have just created. What happens now.
1. I write the message that then my right hand pinky finger gets
trigger happy like on IM and hits enter half way through a message.
OR I make a horrible spelling mistake.
2. So now I click on my name, goto the website (re-login) find the
post, hit the delete key. Message gone. VERY fustrating. I have
already implemented the trash can on my own posts but would like to
make it work. I have also had several requests from users for this
feature.

SECURITY - yes great point, this could be bad if we could delete a lot
of posts all of a sudden (not cool). So could I make the awesome
suggestion of being able to make a post deletable via the API within 5
minutes from when I posted it. That is perfect. I only ever really
want to delete just the last post I made to fix it. So if you check
the time of the request against the time of the post and if they are
less the 5 mins apart then you respond with a deleted, or otherwise an
error saying posts are only deletable withing 5 minutes.

I hope you guys will consider this request as it would in my opionion
really complete the API and remove this last small fustration that we
are having.

Many Regards,
John Ballinger

John,

I very much agree, and I'll be implementing these API methods shortly.

Following up: I've implemented deletion for both statuses and direct
messages. This should be deployed in a bit, and I'll update the API
documentation accordingly.
