Chief Winn and I are starting to think about doing the Weiser River
ride this fall. Tentatively planned for Sat 24 Oct.
It's not a "Crazy" ride at all, but a fairly good rail to trail- dirt,
gravel, base. I recommend a mountain bike with a shock, but it's
really more of a fat tire ride than a mountain bike ride. Since we
want to do the entire trail, we'll have to leave New Meadows at dawn
again, and bring a light which we won't need unless we have problems!
From Boise we're planning on dropping a car in Weiser and driving the
bicycles up to New Meadows. We could probably bring one or two people
back with us when we drive up for the other car, but if more of you
decide to come join us, we'd have to have another plan to transport
people between start and finish point. Doug, you might even talk me
into riding both ways if that's what you want to do.
Here's a hot link to last year's description of 3/4's of the ride
which you might want to review if you're thinking about joining us:

Weather is unpredictable in the late fall- with some cold nasty
weather forecast to arrive and end our long summer tonight and a 2nd
serving of cold forecast for this coming weekend. By 24 Oct we could
have Indian Summer, and we'll cancel at the last minute should a early
winter storm arrive for that weekend.
Corrie has his hands full teaching me to keep up with the great
features he gives us. I sent this as an e-mail to a few, but it
should be posted here! Let me know if you want to join us!
