Sony DRU-710A DVD writer question

I am using sony dru-710A dual layer dvd burner as an external dvd
writer to my laptop. This is an internal dvd burner type model, but i
am using this as an external drive. I am using ide2usb cable and 5v
external voltage as required by the drive. Every thing works fine when
I hook this up along with my computer.
Now, my question is: can I use this as a stand alone dvd player where i
can send the output of the dvd burner to TV monitor and sound also to
TV. I can see some jacks behind the drive for audio,but I am not sure
about the video part.
Can anyone please help me how I can use this dvd burner as a standalone
player where i can send both sound and vide to TV etc?

It will not work that way. Two reasons are:
1. The drive does not have an analog video output which you would need to
connect to a composite input on the TV or to feed a RF modulator.
2. You would have no way to control the drive (start playing, fast
forward, etc.).
The only way you would use this drive to play on a TV would be to connect
it to a PC that has a video card with TV output and software to control
it. You would be better off to buy an inexpensive standalone player.

The audio outputs are for CD-DA - ordinary audio CDs. There is no usable
video output and even the audio may not carry a signal from DVD-Video or
DVD-Audio.

I think that a C2 error is a C1 error(s) that couldn't be corrected
with the C1 error correction capabilities. They're not independant,
they're basically the same thing except for which level of error
correction can correct the error. You're using a program that just
doesn't report C1 errors, as indicated by the fact that the "C1 error"
part in your screenshot is greyed out.
Now I know why you can create disks that have no C1 errors.
