As someone who watched all seven seasons of "The Mary Tyler Moore
Show" (when it was part of the golden Saturday night lineup on CBS), I
vividly recall how the series got a huge boost when it signed on David
Lloyd and Bob Ellison as writers; every time I saw either one's name
in the opening credits, I knew it was going to be a riotously funny
episode.

RIP, David Lloyd.

I wonder if the BBC broadcaster, or the ESPN sportscaster, were aware
of their namesake and honoured him in any way.
