'Warehouse 13' to Get Final Season

Can someone please, PLEASE explain to me why SyFy keeps shooting itself in the foot, cancelling it's highest-rated "signature" series, then green-lighting a BS shortened 'final season'?  Who's running the show over there - Bonnie Hammer or Kent Brockman?

I expect it's all about the bottom line. They make more money on inexpensive "reality" shows.
