Sharon Waxman at TheWrap is wondering... now that Jay Penske also owns Variety, and apparently doesn't intend to have Finke in charge of it, will people continue to read both, or will one lose out?  -- BOB

As long as Variety costs money to read and "Toldja" doesn't, Nikki will always have an audience.

And Penske told the Variety staff that the paywall is coming down and that Nikki will be kept away from Variety (while kicking out of the variety building a Deadline reporter)--oh boy:

The other shoe has dropped at Variety, someone told Deadline (!): 20-25 folks canned, in circulation and directory departments among others.
