A question for viewers of The Daily Show and The Colbert Report who
are not Time Warner NYC viewers:

Were there problems with last night's airings at 11 and 11:30 ET?
Specifically, commercials running when the shows should have begun,
and bits and pieces of each show missing.

Same thing happened one night last week. Not sure if this is Comedy
Central's fault, or TWCNYC's.

Thanks.

I usually watch via Verizon (and DVR).  That hasn't been an issue I remember happening lately, certainly not last night.  If there's been a problem, it's the program break on the DVR not matching up with the actual program break.

This is unfortunate. It's damn near impossible to explain this problem
in a way that TW will understand it, let alone find out the proper
office to direct the complaint to.

Thanks.

It is a cable company thing -- the are given a list of when shows
start and when commercial breaks start, then they set their automated
system to cue the local/plugged in commercials in accordance with that
data. If those numbers are off, the end result is as you described.

This kind of reminds me of a problem I experienced that I think I posted about here sometime last year. I record TDS/CR on Comcast Bay Area, and was consistently finding that they were rejoining both shows out of the commercial break before the interview segment (and maybe one other segment) late, a result of adding an extra commercial of their own. I emailed and called every every contact I could find at Comcast, trying to explain the problem. Most of the people I got through to either could not understand what I was talking about, or pretended they did not understand, and tried to blame Comedy Central.

However, in my case the lost material was only during the early morning replay - I shifted to recording the original 8:00 pm airings, the problem disappeared - then I switched to the 11:00 pm repeat, and I have not noticed the problem there either. It sounds like you are having the problem with the original airing.

Have also seen this in radio, esp. at ClearChannel Group's stations.
